Renowned chazzan and singer, Aron Gerstel, is excited to present this heartfelt and powerful rendition of Shlomo Carlebach’s Mi She’asah Nissim.
This beautiful blend of Carlebach nusach and melody begins with a classic and unmistakable Shlomo nigun. A song simultaneously sweet and haunting, emanating from the very depths of Shlomo’s incredibly complex, passionate, exalted and deep soul. The song tugs at the heartstrings and evokes emotion and yearning for Hashem in inimitable Carlebach fashion. Indeed, Shlomo seems to have been especially fond of this nigun as he attached it to various lyrics throughout his life (most famously Ani Maamin and Asisi Lechanenach). The song gives way to a hidden gem of Carlebach Chazzanus. Here, Aron showcases his masterful vocal range, power, control and dynamics, while staying true to Carlebach’s distinct style and vibe. The song ends with another cantorial riff that Shlomo used at the end of Ani Maamin and culminates in a surprising finish. Listen for yourself!
