Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered in south Brooklyn for Nakba day on Saturday to show their support for Palestinians and decry Israeli airstrikes.
The crowd chanted their support for Palestinian, held Palestinian flags and listened to speeches from activists.
The demonstration coincided with Nakba day which Palestinians recognised as the day they were permanently displaced from the region during the creating of the state of Israel in the late 1940s.
Protests in support of Palestinians have been taking place worldwide amid the worst violence between Israel and Palestine since 2014.
Tensions between Israel and Palestine began to escalate over the planned eviction of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. In recent days, violence including rockets fired from Gaza have killed 10 civilians in Israel, while a campaign of Israeli airstrikes has killed at least 139 people including over 30 children.
