Clashes broke out as hundreds of ultra-Orthodox Jews protested the enforcement of COVID-19 restrictions in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening. Police used water cannon to disperse protesters, and several were seen being detained by officers. Demonstrators gathered en masse to protest the enforcement of coronavirus restrictions in schools in yeshivas (Jewish educational institutions), in haredi neighbourhoods.
