This is how Israel celebrates victory over its enemies. Not a gun or sword in sight.
The holiday of Purim celebrates how we turned the tables on Haman and his family, who in ancient Persia tried to convince King Achashverosh to kill all the Jews. Instead, they got humiliated executed themselves for trying, leaving the Jews a day of celebration that has continued for over 2500 years.
We celebrate, not by running through the streets shooting guns into the air and glorifying death, but by worshipping, God, life and joy, dressing in crazy costumes, dancing, joking, eating and drinking with friends and family, giving food and charity to each other.
