On Monday evening, Zos Chanukah 5780, the family of Reb Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin gathered with Rabbonim, activists, and fellow Jews, to celebrate 2 miracles years of freedom at special event of chizuk and simcha.
The energy in the room was electric with thousands of participants listening tentatively, singing enthusiastically and then getting up on their feet, uniting in joyous dancing.
“This miracle wasn’t just a personal yeshuah. It was a reminder to Klal Yisroel about the power of emunah and bitachon,” Sholom Mordechai’s son, Getzel Rubashkin, says. “Ever since his release, gedolim and Jewish leaders around the world have been encouraging my father to dedicate himself to spreading the message of emunah and bitachon, and that is what he has done. ‘Alef, Bais, Gimmel’ has become a household phrase. This event is a moment to loudly and clearly thank Hashem and reaffirm that we got the message – emunah and bitachon will bring geulah.”
The program featured divrei chizuk and personal reflections from Reb Sholom Mordechai mixed with song and dance led by singer Benny Freidman, musicians Avremi G. and Yossi Cohen, and the Shira choir.
Hundreds of women gathered in a hall next door and were addressed by Mrs. Leah Rubashkin.
One participant left saying: “I thought the inspiration would fizzle out with time, but Reb Sholom Mordechai gets better every time I hear him. “I will never forget such a beutiful evening”

אי אפשר לשכוח: כך חגג ר’ שולם רובשקין שנתיים לשחרורו
אין מישהו שלא זוכר היכן היה בעת שהגיעה הבשורה המשמחת על אודות שחרורו של ר’ שלום מרדכי רובשקין מבית הכלא.
זו הייתה שמחה אדירה שריגשה את כלל עם ישראל. ריקודים ספונטניים פרצו ברחובות ברוקלין, ובמרכז חב”ד העולמי 770 הפך הלילה ליום.
אמש, זאת חנוכה, בדיוק שנתיים אחרי – התכנס ר’ שלום מרדכי יחד עם בני משפחתו וידידיו, לצד רבנים, פעילים ואישי ציבור, בכדי לחיות מחדש את אותם רגעים באירוע מיוחד של חיזוק ושמחה.
לאורך הערב הקפיץ את הקהל הזמר בני פרידמן, ורובשקין נשא דברים בחיות רבה.
“הנס הזה לא היה רק ישועה אישית שלנו”, אמר בנו של ר’ שלום מרדכי, ר’ געצל. “זה היה שיעור לכלל ישראל על אמונה וביטחון”.
