United Hatzalah of Israel is the largest independent, non-profit, fully volunteer Emergency Medical Service organization that provides the fastest and free emergency medical first response throughout Israel. United Hatzalah’s service is available to all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. United Hatzalah has more than 3,500 volunteers around the country, available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With the help of our unique GPS technology and our iconic ambucycles, our average response time is less than 3 minutes across the country and 90 seconds in metropolitan areas. Our mission is to arrive at the scene of medical emergencies as soon as possible and provide the patient with professional and appropriate medical aid until an ambulance arrives, resulting in many more lives saved.

איחוד הצלה – ראשונים בהצלת חיים
רעיון ‘הצלה’ הוקם בניו-יורק לפני כמה עשורים, בשנת 1989 נוסד הגרעין הראשון של מתנדבי הצלה על ידי קבוצת אזרחים שהחליטו ללמוד קורס עזרה ראשונה במטרה לטפל בהתנדבות עד להגעת אמבולנס במקרי חירום רפואיים המתרחשים באזור מגוריהם. חברי הקבוצה עברו הכשרות מתאימות, והחלו לפעול ברחבי הארץ, סניפי ‘הצלה’ הפזורים ברחבי הארץ פעלו ללא תיאום ביניהם, בשנת 2006 עם פרוץ מלחמת לבנון השנייה נפגשו כלל מתנדבי ‘הצלה’ בארץ לסייע רפואית, והובן הצורך ההכרחי באיחוד כלל מתנדבי ‘הצלה’ בארץ תחת ארגון גג אחד, כדי ליצור אחידות הפעלה הן בהיבט המקצועי והן בהיבט התפעולי מכאן נולד שמו הנוכחי של הארגון – ‘איחוד הצלה’.
איחוד הצלה הוקם בשנת 2006 כארגון המושתת על מתנדבים ומטרתו מתן מענה רפואי ראשוני ומקצועי על מנת להציל חיים. כיום (2017) מונה הארגון מעל 3,500 חובשים, פרמדיקים ורופאים פעילים מדן ועד אילת והוא מאושר כגוף מסייע רשמי בשעת חירום על ידי משרד הבריאות. מתנדבי “איחוד הצלה” מגישים סיוע רפואי לחולים ולפצועים הזקוקים לטיפול וסיוע רפואי מיידי. המתנדבים פזורים בתוך אוכלוסיית ישראל בכל עיר, שכונה ורחוב. הם מגיעים מכל שכבות האוכלוסייה בישראל: יהודים, ערבים, חילונים, חרדים, גברים ונשים. כאשר חלקם פעילים בארגון במסגרת “השירות האזרחי”.
המתנדבים באיחוד הצלה פעילים 24 שעות ביממה, 365 יום בשנה, כולל שבתות וחגים.
