Emergency workers helped residents of an Ashdod building hit by a rocket sort through the debris. The rocket was launched from Gaza on Monday.

According to reports, eight people were injured by the missile.

Building residents described following instructions after hearing the alarm.

Chen said, “the doors came out of their place, the windows shattered, everything in the kitchen collapsed,” she said. “Everything was destroyed, you can’t go in.” Another said they had followed instructions to leave after hearing the alarm.

Another explained how she “ran like crazy” before finding her unharmed son outside. “I said, ‘thank god he was not harmed,’ but the house..,” she said.

The confrontations, which began with protests against evictions in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, escalated into an exchange of rockets and airstrikes, killing 10 civilians and one soldier in Israel. In Gaza, the death toll has increased to nearly 200, including at least 58 children and 34 women, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
