Several residents were hospitalized with injuries after a rocket hit a passenger bus with nearby vehicles set on fire in the city of Holon, south of Tel Aviv on Tuesday, according to an ambulance worker.

“In total we evacuated seven injured people, medics quickly evacuated them to the hospitals,” said worker of the Magen David Adom national ambulance service Ronen Sananes.

Violence has erupted in recent days amid protests in East Jerusalem over possible evictions of Palestinian families from Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. Clashes that began at the Al-Aqsa compound escalated into an exchange of rockets between Hamas and Israel.
