My Shocking Trip to Guatemala
Inside Lev Tahor, Active Volcanoes & Hidden Gems

This was no ordinary trip. I didn’t just visit tourist spots — I stepped into one of the most extreme and disturbing sects in the world.

Lev Tahor (בבל)
Hidden in the remote mountains of Guatemala is the secluded compound of Lev Tahor — a radical cult led by abusive leaders who tightly control their followers’ lives.

They allowed me inside. What I saw was unsettling:

Families and children wearing strange, outdated clothing

Blind obedience enforced by strict, abusive control

A way of life stripped of joy, individuality, and freedom

It didn’t feel like a religious group — it felt like a controlled, isolated nightmare.

I also visited their former location, now abandoned but still haunted by the energy of what happened there.

Pacaya Volcano
Earlier in the trip, I hiked the Pacaya Volcano, where smoke still rises from the cracked earth — raw, powerful, and unforgettable.

Antigua’s Chabad & the “Hand in the Mountain”
In total contrast, I stopped at the beautiful and uplifting Chabad of Antigua, a place full of kindness and light.
I also visited the famous “hand in the mountain” — a surreal and peaceful landmark tucked into the hills.
