Clashes between Israeli police and Muslim worshippers renewed in East Jerusalem on Saturday night as the nightly tensions during the holy month of Ramadan continue at the walls of Jerusalem’s Old City.
At least ten people were arrested as more than 1,000 officers were deployed, according to reports.
Tensions have been ongoing throughout the week, with the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem being at the epicentre of the discontent, as barriers have been erected this year at the site to prevent crowding where Muslim worshippers traditionally would gather during Ramadan nights.
