Hundreds of worshippers prayed at the Western Wall in East Jerusalem on Sunday to celebrate the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.
On the second day of the eight-day Hanukkah, dozens of worshippers perform their prayers and lit the second candle of Menorah, near the Western Wall.
“Today is Hanukkah, the holiday of Hanukkah, all Jews celebrate the holiday of Hanukkah, we light candles as you can see, one candle every day, and today is the first candle, every day we add another candle and another candle until the eighth day when we actually stop lighting candles, and basically every The Hanukkah holiday as a whole is a total of eight days, “the eight days of Hanukkah,” said Elhanan Milo, worshipper.
Hanukkah is a Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and the subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century B.C.
