VIN News – Brooklyn, NY – Nearly 1000 Mourners man and woman, gathered in Borough Park Wednesday night July 20 2011, crying and singing at a memorial service that was held at Congregation Anshe Sfard on 14th Ave. in Brooklyn, NY.
“There’s nothing we could say that could really affect the family as much as singing,” Cantor at Park East Synagogue Benny Rogosnitzky told WABC TV. “So we asked the family to come together with the community to sing and pray, and hopefully inspire them.”
Leiby’s father, Nachman Kletzky, joined the community. The service marked the end of the seven-day mourning period of Shiva.
The event was coordinated by the founders of Cantors world.
The five cantors were Yaakov Lemmer, Netanel Hershtik, Ben Zion Miller, Yaakov Rosenfeld, Shimmy Miller
