At least two shops owned by Arabs were vandalised allegedly by a mob of Jewish right-wingers in Bat Yam, a city just south of Tel-Aviv amid interethnic violence tensions.
Passerbys were seen standing near the damaged shop and assessing the aftermath of the attack on Thursday.
“I ask both sides to please stop, this is not respectful let us live together in coexistence, calmly. Don’t take us back to the 30’s and 40’s with riots and vandalism,” Savyonit, a local resident, said.
Some of the worst violence in years has taken place in Israel and Palestine over the last week, leading to a wave of unrest in Israeli cities, while the Israeli military and Palestinian militants have engaged in exchanges of airstrikes and rocket fire.
