Day 7 of my 50-state road trip was supposed to be routine. It wasn’t. Out of all the states, highways, and sleepovers, this was the day that genuinely scared me — walking into a nursing home to film a commercial. What I expected and what actually happened couldn’t have been more different, and it turned into one of the most meaningful moments of the entire journey.
