Thousands of Orthodox Jews gathered in the Israeli city of Bnei Brak on Sunday to attend the funeral of Rabbi Chaim Meir Wosner, who died from COVID-19 earlier in the day.

Attendees of the funeral were seen in large crowds without wearing face masks or respecting social distancing rules.

Police were seen putting up barriers around the procession site before those were taken down by funeral attendees. Funeral attendees were seen scuffling with police and security personnel.

According to Johns Hopkins University data, Israel has over 686,000 registered cases of COVID-19 infections and 5,113 related deaths.
