Toldos Aharon Rebbe in Conversation with Renowned Maggid shiur Reb Yosef Chaim Greenwald in Liska
1 month ago
A deeply moving and spiritually uplifting moment in Liska, Hungary. As he does every year, the revered Toldos Aharon Rebbe shlita visited Olaszliszka — known throughout the Jewish and Chassidish world as Liska — for the yahrzeit of the holy Liska Rebbe, Reb Hershele Lisker, Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Friedmann zt”l. The Toldos Aharon Rebbe spent a long time in heartfelt tefillah at the sacred tziyun of Reb Hershele Lisker. Standing beside the kever of the great tzaddik, the Rebbe davened with exceptional concentration and devotion, continuing the ancient Chassidic tradition of visiting the resting places of tzaddikim and awakening rachamei Shamayim for Klal Yisroel. Following the long and emotional prayer at the tziyun, the Toldos Aharon Rebbe visited the ruins of the historic Liska Synagogue. This was once a great place of Torah learning, tefillah and Chassidus, where generations of Liska Jews gathered and where the spiritual influence of Reb Hershele Lisker reached far beyond the Tokaj and Zemplén region. Most of the physical walls of the synagogue no longer stand, but the kedushah and memory of the place remain. Every surviving stone recalls a once-flourishing Jewish community, the voices of Torah scholars and yeshiva students, the prayers of ordinary Jewish families and the spiritual world that made Liska famous throughout Hungary, Galicia and the wider Chassidic world. The visit of the Toldos Aharon Rebbe connects the living world of Chassidus with the sacred Jewish heritage of Olaszliszka. It reminds us that although buildings may be destroyed and communities dispersed, Torah, emunah and the memory of the tzaddikim continue from generation to generation. The holy Liska Rebbe, Reb Hershele Lisker, was one of the most respected Chassidic masters of nineteenth-century Hungary. His tziyun in Olaszliszka remains an important place of Jewish pilgrimage, prayer and spiritual connection. Chassidim, rabbanim, yeshiva bochurim, avreichim and Jewish visitors continue to travel to the Liska ohel, especially around the yahrzeit on 14 Av. This video is shared for Chassidim and Jewish communities throughout Jerusalem, Meah Shearim, Bnei Brak, Beit Shemesh, Williamsburg, Boro Park, Monsey, Kiryas Joel, London, Antwerp, Canada, Israel, the United States and around the world. May the zechus of the holy Liska Rebbe protect Klal Yisroel and bring yeshuos, refuos, parnassah, nachas and brachah to all those who come to pray at his tziyun and to everyone watching this video. זכותו יגן עלינו ועל כל ישראל אמן. #ToldosAharon #LiskaRebbe #RebHersheleLisker #Liska #Olaszliszka #Yahrzeit #Tziyun #Chassidim #HasidicJudaism #JewishHeritage #JewishHungary #Tokaj #Zemplen #תולדותאהרן #ליסקא
