The confrontation in the Middle East, which began with protests against planned evictions of Palestinians in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, escalated into an exchange of rockets and airstrikes.
At least 12 people including two children have been killed in Israel, according to reports. In the Gaza Strip, the death toll has surpassed 200, including more than 60 children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
