Why Was the Lakewood Fire Department Pulling Water From Lakewood Lake?

While passing Lakewood Lake off South Lake Drive, this is what I saw—the Lakewood Fire Department conducting its annual drafting drill! Once a year, firefighters practice pulling water directly from a pond or another open water source instead of using a hydrant.
