Follow Misaskim as they walk alongside the almanos and yesomim of our community. Watch as they shower them with heartwarming sparks throughout the year.
One spark, another spark, and the sparks burst into flames, warming their souls and chasing the darkness out of their hearts.
On Feb 23-24 we will fuel those sparks, bringing comfort, hope, and relief to those who need us most.

The sound of giggles and laughter echoes.
What would have been a lonely Chol Hamoed without Tatty being home, has now transformed into a day of fun, thrill, and excitement.
Sparks of Peace. Relief. Calm. Light.
The smell of freshly cooked food permeates the air.
What would have been a draining Erev Yom Tov without her husband home, has now transformed into true Simchas Yom Tov as she receives a gourmet 5-star meal.
Sparks of Comfort. Support. Consolation.
A sense of comfort reigns.
What would have been a week of overwhelmingness, has now transformed into a week where all necessities were taken care of.
While they are widely known for their burial arrangements and other mourners’ needs like shiva chairs and furniture, the chessed Misaskim does go way beyond just that.
Misaskim provides a plethora of services for those who have lost a parent, and for those who lost a spouse.
It’s hard to properly explain all their services since there are many. And while words won’t suffice, we will try regardless.
In the Shiva days:
-Starting at the Shiva, Yesomim and Almanos receive hearty meals throughout the day, in addition to all other Shiva needs that are being taken care of
-The Kinderlach receive fun and expensive toys and games to make their day a bit brighter
-Still during Shiva, Misaskim sends professionally trained coaches to speak with the Almanah and to help her process all that is going on, which helps her move forward.
Ongoing services provided for yesomim and almanos throughout the year
-Yom Tov Help: Before every Yom Yov, the almanos receive tremendous help and support, to enable her to welcome Yom Tov into her home.
-Purim Seudas: Purim, which should be a time of fun and laughter, can easily be the saddest time of year for those who lost loved ones. The family will receive a full Purim seuda delivered to their home to ease the burden. Special menus can be chosen, and the food order is custom made for each individual family.
-Chol Hamoed Trips: Yesomim are taken out on fully sponsored fun Chol Hamoed trips which gives the kids a good time, while providing the mothers with a much-needed break.
-Chanukah Gift Packages: In honor of Chanukah, when there sadly might not be a father to light the menorah, Misaskim lights their homes up with amazing Chanukah Gifts and packages for everyone in the family
-Camp Packages: There might not be a Tatty to buy goodies and bring to camp on visiting day. But Misaskim brings packages to the girls and boys in camp.
-School Packages: As the school year starts, things can get overwhelming. Misaskim sends school packages full of school supplies geared for all children, which makes things so much easier.
-Fix-It Service: When there isn’t a father in the house, any repairs can be hard. Be it air conditioners, wash machines, dryers, boilers, etc, Misaskim will get it done.
All these services don’t come cheap. They require work, effort, time, and big amounts of money.
Our budget now reaches a staggering 4 million dollars!!

This Campaign strongly focuses on the Sparks in the Dark. It is because while the pain never really goes away, we can still share those little sparks to light up their dark, which in essence isn’t so little at all.
It is Misaskim’s mission to be the desperately needed Spark in a world that seems so Dark.
