Today marks the first Yahrzeit of cantor Rabbi David Werdyger Z”L who died a year ago today at the old age of 94. in honor of his first Yahrzeit, Hamenagnim Orchestra is releasing for online viewing a video clip of his grandson Yisroel Werdyger singing “Yibaneh Hamikdash” accompanied by the Shira Choir composed by reb Dovid Z”L. this was recorded on the Kumtanz DVD
This is one of the most unique productions that the Jewish music world has seen in years. The level of production, dozens of camera crews, the most advanced sound systems in the industry, PLUS over a thousand yeshiva students, and the best stars of Hasidic music; Shloime Gertner, Sruly Werdyger, Eli Herzlich, Motty Steinmetz, Itzik Eshel, the Shira choir & Klezmer clarinetist Nachman Tzuker.
KUMTANTZ 1 also features the mega talented Hamenagnim orchestra under the direction of musical director Moishy Roth.

לרגל יום השנה לפטירתו של גדול החזנים בכל הזמנים, ר’ דוד ורדיגר ז”ל, שחל היום – ב’ ניסן, שהיה מחלוצי המוסיקה החסידית לדורותיה, משחררת תזמורת “המנגנים” קטע מיוחד מתוך ה”קומטאנץ” שיצא זה מכבר, בהשתתפות נכדו בעל המנגן ר’ ישראל ורדיגר בו הוא מבצע את השיר “יבנה המקדש” יחד עם מקהלת “שירה” מארה”ב, ללחנו של סבו ז”ל.
צילום פרויקט “קומטאנץ” נקבעו מראש לתאריך שבדיעבד יצא ימים ספורים לאחר הפטירה שהכתה בהלם את תעשיית המוסיקה החסידית בארץ ובחו”ל, ואת חובבי המוסיקה החסידית ברחבי העולם, כאחד.
עד לרגע האחרון לא היה ברור אם יגיע ישראל ורדיגר לישראל וייקח חלק בצילומים כפי שנקבע מראש, אך לבסוף הגיע ורדיגר לישראל, השתתף בצילומי הפרויקט, ואף ביצע באופן ספונטני יחד עם התזמורת ובהשתתפות הקהל את “יבנה המקדש”, לזכרו של סבו ז”ל.
